Broward Seawall

Terms of use

What this website is for

These pages describe, in general terms, how seawalls along the Broward canals are built, the ways they fail, and what an inspection and a repair usually involve. The site also introduces waterfront owners to a marine contractor working this county.

Background, not advice

None of it is engineering opinion, legal opinion, or a forecast of how any reviewing office will treat any particular property. It is an account of how this work normally goes.

Permitting requirements, review practice and conditions on the water all vary, and the reviewing offices are the authority on their own rules. Nothing here should stand in place of an inspection, a survey, or advice from a professional retained on your project.

No prices on any page

No figure appears anywhere here and none should be inferred. Scope, schedule and cost are settled by the contractor after an inspection of the wall.

Errors

These pages are written carefully and reviewed, but conditions change and mistakes are possible. Tell us about one and it will be corrected.
